Since January, our dedicated Year 7 and 8 drama club have been meeting every week to devise and rehearse an original comedy performance. Their hilarious production, based on the adventures of a group of mischievous OAPs living in a care home, showcases the pupils’ creativity, humour and excellent teamwork.
We are incredibly proud that they have been selected to perform their original piece at the Barnet Theatre Festival at The Clarion School, where they will take to the stage alongside talented primary and secondary schools from across the borough. We wish them the very best of luck and can’t wait to see them shine!

Our drama department enjoyed an outstanding arts week, with 120 pupils immersing themselves in the exciting world of theatre-making.
The children participated in inspiring workshops led by Synergy Theatre Project and Chalk Line Theatre Company, where they learnt how to devise original performances from scratch. Throughout the week, pupils wrote their own scripts, poems and raps, developed memorable characters and worked collaboratively to bring their ideas to the stage. The week culminated in five groups performing their original plays in a closely contested showcase. While every performance demonstrated creativity and commitment, Group 2 impressed the judges with their imaginative storyline, confident performances and outstanding characterisation to claim the winning title.
Saracens High pupils also explored London’s rich theatrical heritage by taking part in a West End theatre treasure hunt, visiting some of the capital’s most famous venues before enjoying lunch in Soho Square. It was an inspiring week that showcased the creativity, confidence and collaborative spirit of our young performers.

During arts week over 120 pupils took part in an exciting programme of musical workshops and activities.
The children explored rhythm and performance through specialist beatboxing and STOMP-inspired workshops using basketballs and boomwhackers, discovering new ways to create music with everyday objects. They also demonstrated incredible creativity by writing and performing their own songs and raps on the theme of climate change, before bringing their ideas to life by creating their very own music videos. To round off the week, pupils took part in a music venue hunt around Camden Town, discovering six iconic live music venues before enjoying a well-deserved lunch together in Regent’s Park.
It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork and musical talent on display throughout the week.

BICS are running virtual workshops for parents and carers of children and young people.
The workshops cover common wellbeing and mental health difficulties faced by young people and present strategies for how best to support. There are eight topics coming up between June 2026 – December 2026. Click on the link below for more information.
Three of our A Level students had no sooner finished their exams than they were scarpering up the three highest mountains in the UK, all within 24 hours, for the Three Peaks Challenge. Quick quiz: Can you name the three highest mountains in the UK? Answers below.*
We are thrilled to share that our adventurous alumni completed the challenge and met their fundraising target of £1500 for Saracens Foundation.
After they’ve had a few days to recover, we look forward to hearing more about the highs and lows of working together as they trekked in blazing sunshine, reaching snow-capped peaks, and needed head torches as darkness fell. Photos from the challenge are breathtaking and we’re sure these young men will remember this adventure for the rest of their lives.
We hope this is the start of many fundraising initiatives by pupils and alumni alike. Congratulations Haroon, Adam and Freddie!

A massive thank you to everyone involved in our sixth form taster day. Despite the grueling, tropical heat, our rising Year 12s were absolutely incredible!
They didn’t let the melting temperatures slow them down – showing up fully, engaging in all their taster lessons, and diving headfirst into the enrichment activities. Frankly, given the weather, we half-expected them to melt into puddles by period 4, but their energy and enthusiasm didn’t waver.
It was an amazing day all round, and a brilliant glimpse into the fantastic cohort they are going to be in September.

Yesterday, June 23rd, I and seven others were invited to the Cambridge Theatre to see the awards ceremony presenting the Carnegie Award, the longest running British book and illustration award.
The previous week, on Monday 15th, we gave a presentation on one of the shortlisted books Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody at the Barnet Libraries Shadowing event in Mill Hill. Yesterday, we watched the ceremony with crossed fingers and had our copies of the book signed by the author Patrick Ness.
Winning the coveted award was a novel named Wolf Siren by Beth O’Brien. The experience was very inspiring, making me want to read some of the winning books and perhaps someday be up on the stage myself.

This term, we held our most successful My Future, My Choice careers afternoon yet — and what a turnout it was. More than sixty professionals from over forty organisations came into school to share their careers with pupils in Years 7 to 10, our best response from the world of work yet. From law, finance and energy to midwifery, construction, technology and television, the young people heard first-hand what these jobs really involve, the skills they take, and the very different routes people followed to get there.
Across the afternoon, each learning group visited four different talks, moving between rooms to meet professionals from an extraordinary range of industries. There were plenty of memorable moments – Octopus Energy brought an electric car onto the playground and a gardener delighted pupils with a leaf blower, a brilliant reminder that hands-on, practical careers are every bit as valuable as the rest. The buzz around school was wonderful to see: attentive listening, thoughtful questions, and pupils living our values of discipline, hard work, honesty and humility throughout.
Our heartfelt thanks go to every visitor who gave their time so generously – events like this simply don’t happen without them. Afterwards, Saracens pupils reflected on what they’d seen and what it might mean for their own futures, and many left talking about a job or a path they’d never considered before. That is exactly what My Future, My Choice is all about, and we can’t wait to make next year’s event even better.
On a perfect summer’s evening, our Year 11s arrived for prom in style, showing off their sharp suits and sequined dresses on the red carpet outside StoneX Stadium.
To celebrate finishing their GCSEs, the students enjoyed drinks and nibbles in the elegantly decorated room, bathed in evening sunlight. Both the photo booth and buffet dinner were popular and set the tone for an evening of dancing.
The much anticipated announcement of our prom king and queen didn’t disappoint: Scarlett and Real received rapturous applause at their impromtu coronation!
Thank you to everyone who worked so hard in planning, decorating and catering – it all came together beautifully and we’re sure it’ll be a happy memory cherished by all.
On Thursday 18th June, we officially bid farewell to our Year 13 cohort with a celebration meal at Gokyuzu. It was a thoroughly lovely evening and – crucially – the perfect opportunity for both staff and students to finally socialise as normal human beings after a frankly grueling and hectic exam season.
With the intense pressure of the exam hall behind them, everyone could finally breathe. The evening was filled with laughter, great food, and the sharing of old stories and fond reminiscences. It turns out that when they aren’t furiously writing essays against the clock, our students are actually excellent dinner company!
A huge thank you to all the staff who came along to support, and to our incredible Year 13s. We are so proud of them, and we wish them the absolute best of luck for the future – and a very well-deserved summer of sleeping in!
