Alumni News
Two years ago, Saracens Sixth Form sent their first cohort of leavers into the world. Along with this year’s alumni, there are now graduates of Saracens High School studying a diverse range of degree courses, with nearly a quarter at some of the most elite universities in the UK.
It was nothing short of a joy this week to receive an email from an alumnus. He outlined how the opportunities he enjoyed in our sixth form have led to ongoing opportuities for himself as well as multiplying similar experiences for our current students:
‘I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to get in touch and share an exciting opportunity that has come up through my work placement provider.
They have offered me an apprenticeship with £48,000 of funding towards my education, which is a fantastic opportunity for me to continue developing my skills and progress into a career in data which I wanted to do. I’m really grateful for the support and opportunities that have come my way since completing my time at Saracens High School.
I also wanted to ask whether Saracens High School might be interested in an opportunity for one additional T Level student to undertake a work placement with the same company. They are open to taking on another student, and I thought this could be a valuable opportunity for a student looking to gain practical experience alongside their studies with a potential chance of being offered a summer internship and apprenticeship after completion of the placement as I was offered.’
We’re grateful to Miss Mohamed, our Business Engagement Coordinator, for matching students with fantastic work placements like these. Please reach out to her if you would like to find out more about hosting one of our sixth formers in future: as.mohamed@saracenshigh.org
A huge congratulations as well to another of our alumni who has secured a 6-year degree apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying with a construction company, in partnership with London South Bank University.
We look forward to sharing more success stories of our alumni in future bulletins as well as the upcoming launch of Saracens Education’s new platform for connecting alumni with one another and with training and employment opportunities. Watch this space!
