Pupil Leadership
We believe that enriching lives through education means empowering our young people to become the leaders of today and tomorrow.
Our Pupil Leadership Team (PLT) and Year Leadership Team (YLT) form a solution-focused leadership body who are focused on enhancing pupil experience.
By gathering and representing pupil voice across all learning groups and year groups, the team strengthens the link between pupil feedback and visible, positive action – enhancing wellbeing, reinforcing our shared sense of belonging, and shaping our unique school culture.

A Diverse and Inclusive Voice
True leadership reflects the entire community. Our current leadership team is made up of 64 pupils representing a wonderfully diverse demographic, including students with SEND, EAL, Pupil Premium, Gifted backgrounds, and Free School Meals. With representation spanning from Year 7 through to Year 13, we ensure continuous, consistent, and wide-ranging advocacy where every single pupil feels valued.

Personal Development & Core Character Values
In alignment with our school’s values, our pupil leaders consistently demonstrate:
- Discipline: Organising structured monthly meetings to explore academic and cultural themes, alongside termly feedback sessions to report back on student voice and direct future actions
- Hard Work: Planning, managing, and running school events including: school fairs; culture day; an annual Iftar; careers events; end of year assemblies; and our celebration of achievement evening
- Honesty: Acting as trustworthy ambassadors by leading the democratic Jack Petchey voting process and directly contributing to staff interview panels
- Humility: Dedicating their time to charity and community outreach, which has seen the team raise over £500 through bake sales, coordinate over 200 items for local food banks, raise over £300 for the Royal British Legion, and make donations to vital causes like Children in Need and Papyrus
Real Impact and Key Achievements
The PLT and YLT are central to school life and have celebrated substantial success in several key areas:
- Visibility and Community Presence: Taking prominent roles in welcoming families during open evenings and mornings, and conducting school tours
- Wellbeing and Belonging: Directing peer mentoring programmes and leading student societies. They work closely with the Healthy Schools Silver Award framework to actively champion mental health awareness
- Improving our School Environment: Successfully spearheading initiatives for corridor safety, fostering positive play, delivering family lunch improvements, and launching innovative rewards campaigns
- Professional Communications: Ensuring effective accountability by sharing structured meeting minutes directly with Academic Year Leaders (AYLs), Year Leaders (YLs), and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
- Media Advocacy: Representing the school’s vision at the highest level by featuring in a regional PiXL and promotional films for Saracens Mutli-Academy Trust
Strategic Skills for the Future
Participating in the PLT and YLT provides our pupils with invaluable real-world preparation. Through strategic thinking, event organisation, and presenting to key stakeholders, our leaders develop crucial life skills. This framework is intentionally designed to boost individual confidence, hone public advocacy, build deeper compassion, and increase overall employability. All in all, it provides a fantastic foundation for university and future job interview preparation.
