Table Football Competition

The Saracens Table Football Club had a successful trip to a national tournament, the Warwickshire Open, on Sunday 29th March.

We took 6 pupils – Savanna, Joshua, Giles, MJ, Malik and Hussain, along with Mr Malte and Mr Owusu.

A smooth 9am departure and good traffic on the M1 had us at the venue in good time to get familiar with the tables before the junior competitions started just after midday. The children competed against others their own age, with everyone playing at least 10 matches across the singles and doubles formats. Savanna and Joshua took third place in the Junior Doubles category, securing trophies as a result.

The team represented the school admirably. One adult who spent some time playing  them noted the joy with which they approached the game. All went over to thank the event’s organisers before leaving. Traffic was a little heavier on the way back but we were all kept entertained by Mr Owusu’s riddles.
