At the start of January both Year 10 GCSE Art classes travelled into central London to explore the areas around St Pauls, Temple and Blackfriars.
Our pupils took photos to start their new project: ‘City Life’. 1000s of photos were taken, many showing clear winter skies and one or two including passing police horses! We were fortunate to hear stories about the history of Temple and insider tips for visiting Temple Church.
The GCSE artists are focusing on a range of areas such as architecture, historical London, culture, religion and graffiti. We’re really looking forward to seeing how everyone uses these photographs in their projects.

Last week, for Year 11 Making Memories, we were given the opportunity to engage in the First Give one day programme.
We learnt about social issues, designed our own charities and met some real life charities. After learning about them, we were given tokens worth £5 and could choose which charities to give them to.
By the end of the day, we had all really enjoyed ourselves and had learnt a lot about how to make positive social impacts on our communities.

We are thrilled to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our Year 13 students on their EPQ results! Over the past year, students have worked incredibly hard, diving deep into their chosen topics and embracing feedback as a gift to refine their projects.
A special thank you to our dedicated tutors, whose detailed and supportive guidance made a significant impact. The Sixth Form team is immensely proud of this first set of grades and is excited to build on this success for the next cohort.
Well done to all involved—you’ve set the bar high!
The opportunity to see the musical film Wicked at Camden’s ODEON was an amazing day filled with memories for Year 12 and 13.
Before going to the cinema we first explored Camden, enjoying the lively atmosphere of Camden Market.
We were mesmerised by the show’s dramatic music, breathtaking effects, wild choreography and outstanding performances as it told the story of the infamous Wicked Witch of the West. It was funny, captivating and truly a work of art.
Beyond the film, Making Memories provided us with a much-needed break from school, allowing us to mix with other seminar groups, socialise with one another and enjoy an unforgettable day.

Our inter-house drop-down event was a resounding success, bringing together pupils from Years 7 to 13 for an afternoon of fierce competition and community spirit.
The houses—Alphonsi, Hill, Johnson, Rimla, Trenchard, and Wilberforce—faced off in thrilling netball, football, and basketball tournaments. Throughout the day, students demonstrated impressive skill, sportsmanship and teamwork, making the competition both exciting and enjoyable for all.
For those not competing in the sports events, the focus shifted to charity, with engaging talks from three of the six charities chosen by pupils earlier in the academic year: the RSPCA; Save the Children; and Water Aid. Pupils learned about the impact their fundraising efforts would have, making the experience even more meaningful. To round off the charitable activities, the young people tested their knowledge in a quiz based on the charities, further deepening their understanding of the causes they are supporting.
Overall, the afternoon was a fantastic success, showcasing the school’s spirit of belonging and success while also raising awareness for important global issues. The event not only fostered healthy competition but also strengthened the sense of community and generosity among students. We look forward to more events like this in the future!

At the beginning of the new year, Year 12 Pre-Apprenticeship students enjoyed a fascinating visit to Flourish Bakery in Watford.
Members of each team within the bakery spent time with our students, giving them an insight into the wide range of jobs that make up a successful bakery: drivers; bakers; human resources; accounts; and cafe staff.
We’re enormously grateful to the team at Flourish for the time they invested in our young people as well as for the delicious cakes they sent us home with!
The Children’s Centre at Saracens Bell Lane is looking for good quality donations to start a toy library.
With your generous donations we’ll be able to help many families in our local community. Being able to borrow a variety of toys will be stimulating for the babies and toddlers and may provide a little respite to weary parents!
Donations must be clean, complete and in full working order. They can be brought to school reception or to StoneX Stadium on 1st February if you are coming to the match at 3pm.
This is a practical way to demonstrate our partnership with another school in Saracens Multi-Academy Trust. Moreover we can show real care and support for local families.
