House Competition Afternoon
Our inter-house drop-down event was a resounding success, bringing together pupils from Years 7 to 13 for an afternoon of fierce competition and community spirit.
The houses—Alphonsi, Hill, Johnson, Rimla, Trenchard, and Wilberforce—faced off in thrilling netball, football, and basketball tournaments. Throughout the day, students demonstrated impressive skill, sportsmanship and teamwork, making the competition both exciting and enjoyable for all.
For those not competing in the sports events, the focus shifted to charity, with engaging talks from three of the six charities chosen by pupils earlier in the academic year: the RSPCA; Save the Children; and Water Aid. Pupils learned about the impact their fundraising efforts would have, making the experience even more meaningful. To round off the charitable activities, the young people tested their knowledge in a quiz based on the charities, further deepening their understanding of the causes they are supporting.
Overall, the afternoon was a fantastic success, showcasing the school’s spirit of belonging and success while also raising awareness for important global issues. The event not only fostered healthy competition but also strengthened the sense of community and generosity among students. We look forward to more events like this in the future!
