Year 9 Geography trip to Dorset
At the beginning of half term Year 9 set off in glorious sunshine for a three-day residential trip to Dorset.
On day one we hit the beach! We visited Shell Beach, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. What a beautiful setting to learn about coastal landforms and to see erosion in action.
Day two was all about rivers as pupils followed the River Wey from source to mouth, taking measurements to see how it changed along its course.
On day three we carried out a coastal study in Lyme Regis and visited the unique Chesil Beach.
We loved staying at PGL in Osmington Bay where we enjoyed a camp fire with marshmallows, singing and dancing, a giant swing and an axe throwing competition (it’s harder than it looks!)
