Sports Round-Up
Athletics
We are thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of our pupils at the recent Barnet Athletics Championships. Our athletes competed in line with our values and brought home a haul of medals.
Notable successes include the following: Lara who won gold in the 200m; Erina who secured gold in Javelin; and Charlene who also achieved a gold medal. We also celebrate silver medalists Sammy, Fideline, Ayah, Ela and Olu. Bronze medals were earned by Herbet and Mohey. Our relay teams across all year groups also performed excellently.
Cricket
Our year 10 boys’ cricket team showcased exceptional skill and teamwork, reaching the semi-finals of the Barnet district competition. Remarkably, the majority of the team comprised year 9 pupils, demonstrating great potential for the future. They narrowly missed out on a spot in the finals, a testament to their competitive spirit and hard work.
Rounders
Ms Quirke accompanied a group of girls from years 7-10 to a rounders competition. The girls greatly benefited from this experience, developing both their practical skills and their understanding of the game.
Sports Day
Finally, we were delighted to return to StoneX Stadium, the impressive home of Saracens Rugby Club, for our annual sports day. Pupils from across the year groups represented the six school houses: Alphonsi; Hill; Johnson; Rimla; Trenchard; and Wilberforce.
The day was packed with a variety of exciting events including tag rugby, volleyball, netball, football and the always popular tug-of-war. Alongside these team sports, pupils also showcased their talents in various track and field events. To top off a fantastic day, our wonderful catering team provided a delicious hot meal for everyone to enjoy.
