National Children’s Book Award

On Monday 15th June, a group of excellent readers were chosen to represent Saracens High School at a shadowing event run by Barnet Libraries. The pupils had to present a book on the Carnegie Prize shortlist which was called The Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody by Patrick Ness. We had to state why other people should read it and why it should win.

There were lots of other schools at the event, and they all presented books from the shortlist and that did make the group a little bit anxious but they still presented their book beautifully.

The group played a game together throughout the day called ‘The Mind’ which brought joy to the group. The overall day was so fun and everyone enjoyed being a part of the trip.
