On 13th October a group of Year 10 pupils took part in the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge.
Through a variety of interactive activities they learnt about the importance of body language, eye contact, posture, hand gestures, tone, diction, speech writing, and narrative structure. Our pupils were equipped with the skills and confidence to speak their mind and be heard.
They ended the session by preparing and performing a 90 second speech in front of the other participants on a topic of their choice.
We’re grateful to the Speakers Trust and Jack Petchey Foundation for organising this valuable day.
