GCSE Geography Coasts Fieldtrip
Year 10 Geography pupils are visiting the beach at Walton-on-the-Naze this half term to carry out a coastal study.
While on the Essex coast pupils will be: measuring beach profiles with clinometers and ranging poles; measuring groyne heights to see the impact of longshore drift; comparing the protected and unprotected beaches; and assessing the effectiveness of the coastal management techniques.
Pupils on the first of these visits were transfixed by the seagulls that were fighting while we ate our lunch! We had a useful and enjoyable visit and even managed to reboard the minibuses before the hail storm set in!
