Barnet Youth Parliament
A huge congratulations to Zahra in Year 7 and Freddie in Year 11 for being among the 22 final candidates up for the two seats on the Barnet Youth Parliament.
Children across the borough submitted their applications in January and 8000 votes were cast in February. We are so proud of how Zahra and Freddie presented well-prepared speeches to the Barnet Council with confidence.
Freddie was voted into one of the two seats available and will take up his duties as a Member of the Barnet Youth Parliament. This will involve going to the House of Commons to watch live debates and attending Barnet council meetings where he’ll have the opportunity to give voice to other young people in the borough.
Well done Zahra and Freddie! We’re excited to see how your involvement in politics will develop in the future!
