Message to Year 11 pupils
Message from Ms Quirke, Year 11 Lead
Make sure you use the Easter break to rest, reset and revise effectively.
Teachers have invited selected pupils to attend specific intervention sessions and our Study Space is open over the Easter break from 10am–3pm. Normal expectations apply and anyone who is unable to meet these standards will be uninvited.
There is still plenty of time to prepare for your GCSEs; adopting a positive attitude and a consistent, balanced approach will help you to succeed. This is not a matter of luck; your hard work, and application of everything you’ve learned so far, will ensure your success!
REMEMBER: staff are here to support you so please ask your teachers for help.
Seven steps to success
- Plan your time using a revision timetable and try to stick to it
- Be disciplined with distractions and remember that delayed gratification pays off; your phone/social media can wait
- Identify what you know and still need to learn
- Break each topic into smaller chunks so revision is more manageable
- Use all the resources: class notes; textbooks; GCSE Pod; past papers; flash cards
- Reward yourself with regular breaks: rest; go outside; exercise; see family & friends
- Get plenty of sleep, eat regularly and stay hydrated so you can focus fully
