Theatre Workshops

During Togetether We Create, our Arts Week, pupils from Alphonsi participated in drama workshops with visiting theatre companies

Year 7 and 8 pupils enjoyed a devising workshop with Chickenshed Theatre. During the workshop they took part in games and activities which developed their confidence and understanding of how to create their own piece of theatre. At the end they all learnt a rap about the rules of devising.

Pupils from Years 9-11 enjoyed a devising workshop with facilitators from Synergy Theatre Company. Pupils had watched a recording of Synergy’s theatre production He Said, She Said in preparation for Arts Week, to use as a stimulus when creating their own work. The play explored the themes of social media misuse and knife crime.
