EAL Make a Splash
What a fantastic day out! On 8th July, our hardest-working English as an Additional Language (EAL) pupils were treated to a special reward trip to the historic Parliament Hill Lido (opened in 1938).
The trip was organised to celebrate these pupils’ incredible dedication, resilience, and hard work in their language learning throughout this school year.
The weather was on our side, and the energy was positive from start to finish. While splashing around in the beautiful open-air pool was brilliant fun, the true highlights of the day happened out of the water:
- Connecting with the Community: Our young people blew us away with their confidence, actively chatting and sharing stories with the friendly Lido lifeguards and staff. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to practice their English in a real-world setting.
- Peer-to-Peer Teaching: In a heartwarming display of teamwork, the stronger swimmers in the group took it upon themselves to patiently teach their peers how to swim.
The day perfectly captured what makes our EAL community so special: kindness, mutual support,and a determination to learn new skills.
A huge congratulations to all the pupils who earned this reward – your hard work inside the classroom has truly paid off, and you represented our school beautifully!
