Study Skills With Dr Martjin
Doctor Martjin van der Spoel is an educational psychologist and a good friend of Saracens High. He has been in school recently helping our pupils with various study techniques:
- Targeted Support For Years 7, 11 and 13: Martjin has helped Year 7 settle in and has helped Year 11 and 13 focus on exams. He will shortly start working with Year 10 while continuing regular sessions with the exam year groups, Years 11 and 13.
- Strategic Selection: Pupils are carefully selected to work with Martjin to give them that extra push where it will have the greatest impact.
Our data shows that working with Martjin alone adds at least half a grade’s worth of progress for pupils (wow!). Dr Martjin is studying how parents can help pupils at school. We know parent support works, and his work helps us make it even better.
