Tate Modern

Our GCSE artists visited the Tate Modern, a world-renowned art gallery on the South Bank of the River Thames.

There’s nothing like seeing artwork ‘in the flesh’ in order to appreciate colour, scale and texture and to experience the impact of the pieces. Our pupils were privileged to do this last week as a way of gaining inspiration for their current project: In the News. The young artists were particularly inspired by the video and sound installations and came away from the visit with lots of fantastic ideas for their own work.

We look forward to seeing how exposure to the artworks in the Tate Modern will influence their own pieces which will be on display at the GCSE art exhibition in July.
