Visiting Author

World Book Day and the National Year of Reading were marked in school this week with a visit from author Ashley Hickson-Lovence.

Ashley led an inspiring assembly with Year 9, talking about his journey to becoming an author and introducing them to his award-winning verse novel Wild East. He encouraged them all to push themselves and to explore their creativity.

Year 8 then took  park in a creative writing workshop with Ashley, following prompts to create some exceptional poems. All of the pupils engaged beutifully and asked thoughtful questions.
