As members of the wider Saracens family, Saracens High School families are given discounted – and even free – tickets to top-flight matches at the impressive StoneX Stadium.
This Saturday the women’s team will take on local rivals, Harlequins, at 7pm. Before the game the Rugby World Cup tie between England and Chile (4.45pm kick off) will be shown on the giant screens.
If you would like free tickets to the women’s game (entry from 4.30pm for those wishing to watch the World Cup match on the screens beforehand) please click here and tickets will be sent to you.
Going to matches is a wonderful way to get to know other families as well as to cheer on our very own Saracens teams. There is a playground, food stalls, music and a wonderful atmosphere so it’s a great day out even for those who aren’t rugby fans (yet)!
We look forward to seeing many of you on Saturday! COME ON YOU SARRIES!

What a spectacular start to our new sixth form. We have been so impressed with our new Year 12 students. Both in terms of their business wear and their attitude to learning.
Classes are all underway for our A Level, T Level and Pre-Apprenticeship students. This afternoon our Pre-Apprenticeship students will be presenting their first projects in front of a judging panel that includes the Principal and Vice Principal!
The young people are getting fully involved in our school community by joining clubs and also mentoring younger pupils in the school.
The cafe and study rooms are now open and the students are using them really respecfully.
On Monday we’re looking forward to hearing a presentation by Career Ready, the first of many interractions with external organisations to help prepare our students for their next step.
Well done Year 12, keep up the great work!

On 28th September children in Year 6 and their families are invited to come and look around our wonderful facilities, meet teachers and pupils and hear from the Principal.
On 1st November children in Year 11 and their families are invited to our Sixth Form Open Evening. This is open to families already at Saracens High as well as those currently in other schools. Come and learn about the different pathways we offer: A Levels, T Levels and Pre-Apprenticeships.
Our new Year 7s have settled in so adeptly they barely feel new anymore!
Thank you for your support on their first morning for the tie presentations. It was encouraging to see so many families supporting their children as they learnt which Houses they were going to be in and were presented with a tie in House colours by players from the Saracens Rugby and Netball teams. Special thanks to the elite sportsmen and women who helped on the day; we love your support and that real sense of belonging we enjoy with the wider Saracens family.
Attendance has been wonderful – 98% so far. Let’s keep working together to ensure that continues. At the tie presentation assembly Doctor Stevens showed us the clear link between attendance and attainment that was seen in this summer’s GCSE results.
Year 7 have had their first PE lessons on the sports pitches on Lanacre Avenue and football trials have taken place for boys and girls.
Many pupils began attending clubs this week. There are so many clubs to enjoy; please encourage your children to get involved. Clubs are a wonderful way to meet new friends and discover new interests.

Welcome back and a happy new (academic) year. I hope you have had a good summer break. We have grown again, and as well as the annual 185 new Year 7 pupils we are welcoming 130+ Sixth Form students, including at least 30 external candidates who are joining us from different schools. To accommodate the growth we have expanded our teaching team again, and new colleagues are introduced below.
I am delighted to inform you that the GCSE results day was a real celebration, with many pupils receiving exceptional results. The final data will not be published until October, but through our collaboration with Barnet and other schools we do have an indicated Progress 8 score, which shows that the pupils’ results are ‘significantly above the national average.’ At the moment it suggests that Saracens pupils achieved about 1 grade better than the national average in each of their subjects. Most pleasing for me was that pupils who are eligible for the pupil premium grant achieved exactly the same Progress 8 score, which bucks the national trend, where that group tends to achieve nearly a grade lower than children who are not ‘pupil premium.’
One contributing factor to the good results was that our pupils’ attendance was 3% higher than the national average. Attendance is the greatest predictor of outcome in exam performance. As you can see from the graph below, the pupils who come to school the most, make the most progress. It shows that pupils with the highest attendance made over one grade more progress in each of their subjects than those with the worst attendance. So is the best thing a parent can do to help their child succeed at school simply send them in every day? It certainly appears that way.
Our target for all pupils is 97% attendance. This means that they can only miss a maximum of 5 days during the year. We know that there will be exceptional times when absence is unavoidable, but please ensure that all holidays are taken during the thirteen weeks of school holiday time, and general sniffles should not prevent someone from coming to school.
Please remember that we are very accessible, and if you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch with the Learning Coach, Year Lead, or classroom teacher by email and we will get back to you within 48 hours.
