Maths Challenge

Each year, Saracens High School runs the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Maths Challenges. There are three basic levels: senior (KS5), intermediate (KS4), and junior (KS3). We are delighted to have had over 250 pupils across years 7-13 participate this year!

These challenges are maths questions that are designed to be tricky and make you think. Pupils are not allowed any calculators or measuring equipment and have to rely only on their brain to answer these difficult questions.

To achieve a bronze award in the challenge, pupils must be in the top 50% nationwide. Silver is the top 33% and Gold is the top 16%. We are very proud that we have had 81 bronze awards, 18 silver awards, and even two gold awards this year (who were invited to participate in the follow-on rounds)!

Each pupil who has participated will receive a certificate next half term to celebrate their achievement.
