Saracens Season Successes

It’s been another fantastic year for all of the Saracens teams.

Saracens Mavericks finished in the top half of the Netball Super League, with a magnificent away win against table-toppers London Pulse in their final game of the season. As the team continues to build they’ll have their eyes on a top four finish next season to qualify for the play-offs.

Saracens Women had a spectacular season, with several members of the squad also representing England at the Rugby World Cup. Unfortunately, Saracens were beaten in the closing minutes of the Premier 15s semi-final to be denied a chance to defend their title in the final.

Saracens Men enjoyed a tremendous season, including winning in front of a vocal crowd when they played against local rivals Harlequins at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Saracens topped off their season by beating Sale Sharks in the final to win the Gallagher Premiership.

Congratulations to all of the Saracens teams. We love the unique relationship we enjoy with these elite sports teams and we look forward to cheering on all of the Black and Reds again next season.

Summer Fair 20th July

The summer fair, organised by pupils, promises to be a really fun afternoon of food and games and getting to know one another. Please try to join us at the school after 4.15pm on Thursday 20th July. Entry is free but please bring money with you for the food and games.

Celebration of Achievement Evening

We are greatly looking forward to our Celebration of Achievement evening on Friday 14 July, 5-6.30pm.

All Year 7s and Year 11s are invited to join this special evening as well as pupils from other years who will be receiving awards. Emails will be sent home with further details, including if your child has won a prize.

Parents of children attending are invited to join us for an evening of ceremony and entertainment (and some drinks and nibbles too!). We are also honoured that a number of special guests will be in attendance to share in our evening and present awards.

The Celebration of Achievement evening is a highlight of the school year and promises to be a wonderful occasion.

Careers Day

Every year we run My Future My Choice, a careers afternoon for the whole school. All pupils, from all years, listen to presentations about different careers. The event provides an invaluable opportunity for the young people to learn about jobs they may never have even heard about before but may want to pursue.

This event has grown year-on-year and this year we had 70 different presenters contributing to 48 different presentations! These included: physiotherapists; designers; midwives; advertising executives; building surveyors; editors; publishers; lawyers; bank managers; entrepreneurs; members of the armed forces; tour managers; accountants; and researchers. What an incredible breadth of professions!

In our outside space we had electric cars from two different companies and, from the construction company Hill, an enormous fork lift truck!

The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and the presenters were very complimentary about the behaviour or our pupils.

D of E Silver Expedition

At the beginning of this term our D of E Silver Award pupils headed to the New Forest for their assessed expedition. They all passed their 3 night expedition with flying colours!

Thank you to David Bennett and Courtney Carter for volunteering to support our staff on the expedition.

We have every confidence in our D of E Silver adventurers completing their volunteering hours and physical sections to achieve the award.

Holocaust Survivor’s Daughter

History was brought to life for our Year 8 pupils when the daughter of a Holocaust survivor came in to share her mother’s stories with them.

Hephzibah Rudofsky, whose mother used to visit the school before she passed away, engaged our young historians with personal anecdotes of the genocide committed by the Nazi regime during the Second World War. The artefacts she brought with her further captivated our pupils, making tangible what they learn about in class.

Thank you so much for your visit, Hephzibah, and to the History department for organising this important day.
