Careers Day
Every year we run My Future My Choice, a careers afternoon for the whole school. All pupils, from all years, listen to presentations about different careers. The event provides an invaluable opportunity for the young people to learn about jobs they may never have even heard about before but may want to pursue.
This event has grown year-on-year and this year we had 70 different presenters contributing to 48 different presentations! These included: physiotherapists; designers; midwives; advertising executives; building surveyors; editors; publishers; lawyers; bank managers; entrepreneurs; members of the armed forces; tour managers; accountants; and researchers. What an incredible breadth of professions!
In our outside space we had electric cars from two different companies and, from the construction company Hill, an enormous fork lift truck!
The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and the presenters were very complimentary about the behaviour or our pupils.
