Year 10 Water Sports At Lee Valley
Year 10’s final Making Memories experience of the year was wonderful!
We went to Lee Valley Water Centre, home of whitewater canoeing and kayaking during the London 2012 Olympics. Under sunny skies the pupils had the opportunity to kayak or paddleboard.
Straight away we realised we’d all end up in the water, with Haroon going in 3 seconds after entering his kayak!
Each house sent pupils to take on a Wipe Out challenge, with most taking the plunge once again while trying to complete the course.
It was a brilliant, funny and relaxing day with all pupils (and staff!) doing something outside of their comfort zone. Many discovered new talents, with a special shout-out to Gracia and Chloe for the most graceful paddleboarding I have even seen. Seyar and Sohail became skilled at reboarding their paddleboards with speed thanks to many opportunities to practise!
Haniah was the only member of Alphonsi who managed to avoid the water – well done!
It was a wonderful way to finish year 10. Well done to everyone who took part!
