Trenchard House

Pupils in Trenchard house focused on drama during our arts week, Together We Create.

Children in years 7 and 8 enjoyed a workshop by Chickenshed Theatre Company as well as a trip into central London to watch The Comedy of Errors at the Shakespearian theatre, The Globe. You can read a pupil’s superb review of the trip in this news round-up.

At the end of the week groups of pupils presented their own plays. Congratulations to winners, group 2, for their structured scenes, smooth transitions and fantastic characterisation.

Years 9, 10 and 11 enjoyed workshops with Synergy Theatre Project and explored the theme of social media misuse.

A high point of the week was a trip into London’s West End for a theatre treasure hunt, stopping for lunch and table tennis in Soho Square.

Throughout the week pupils worked in groups to write and perform a play. Group 3 were the clear winners with special mention going to their live guitar playing between scenes!

All year groups also enjoyed an assembly by an actress about working in the creative industry.

We had a wonderful week bonding as a house and growing as actors and patrons of the arts.
