Together We Create: Food
Restaurant Rivals kicked off the start of TWC 2026 with an introduction to healthy eating and the Eatwell Guide. Pupils were split into groups to create a healthy menu that had to be colourful and include as many of the food groups as possible. The children sliced and diced onions and carrots, stirred fried rice, cubed tofu, and sprinkled seasonings to turn their ideas into a reality creating crunchy stir fries, flavoursome curries and stuffed tacos. There were many happy tummies!
Away from the cooking sessions pupils had to apply their nutritional knowledge to solve puzzles in order to escape the Food & Nutrition Escape Room. We also learnt more about the need and importance of food banks.
In another session pupils had a chance to research pancakes from around the world. They then made batches of pancakes and enjoyed sampling them with either chocolate spread or the more traditional sugar and lemon.
A trip to Borough Market brought the eventful four days to an end. Travelling to London Bridge, pupils were able to see some of the beautiful and iconic sights of London such as Tower Bridge, The Shard, The Walkie Talkie building and the London Eye. Pupils made their way through Borough Market sampling various delectable goodies such as chocolate covered strawberries, giant chocolate chip cookies, rainbow bagels, matcha shakes and ice cream cones.
The House of Rimla made TWC Team Food a truly enjoyable experience!
