Congratulations to the following athletes from Year 7 for their fantastic results in recent athletics events: Jaden, Khaieem, Samuel, Arshia, Maha, Nikola and Grace.
We’re also really proud of Iris, Lily, Jamie, Latrell and Dereon from Years 9 and 10 for being selected to represent Barnet at the Middlesex Championships. Good luck to those athletes and we hope you enjoy the experience.
We’re so grateful to Saracens for the tickets they have given us to the Premiership final at Twickenham Stadium this Saturday. Lots of us will be there cheering on our team. Let’s go Sarries!
Saracens Women are having a great season so we hope they’ll make it to the Premier 15s final on Saturday 24th June!
Middlesex University came to lead lessons with Year 7 on ‘building a university’. The pupils worked in groups and used Lego to aid their learning!
Our school enjoys partnership with Middlesex University and we’re particularly excited about some students studying T Level Health in our sixth form this September. They will receive some of their teaching from Middlesex University teachers in the purpose-built health suites at StoneX Stadium.

Some Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils enjoyed a really special visit to the Home of Cricket, Lord’s Cricket Ground, in central London.
The pupils watched top level cricket in the Specsavers County Championship match between Middlesex and Somerset. They also took part in some cricket activities such as a quick cricket match and a tour of Lord’s.

On Saturday 20 May, when the building was unoccupied, there was a fire in the main school kitchen. The fire alarms were triggered and the Fire Service was automatically called. They arrived swiftly and put out the fire, restricting the damage to the kitchen.
The Fire Service believe the most likely cause of the fire was a washing machine. We’re so thankful that no-one was harmed and that our fire systems were effective in preventing the fire spreading and causing further damage.
We’re grateful for the hard work of so many staff: first responders like Jakub our Lettings Supervisor; Suzana for cleaning the hall over the weekend; our Head Chef, Cristi, for planning a menu for this week at such short notice; Our Facilities Coordinator, Lee, and our ICT Network Manager, Stuart, for ensuring the safety of the building; staff who came in over the weekend; those who have been arriving early to prepare 1000 packed lunches each day; those working flat out to get the kitchen back in action as soon as possible…and many more! It has been great to see everyone working as a team.
Repairing and refitting the kitchen is our priority and we hope to be able to cook hot meals again soon after half term.
Parents, your words of encouragement, understanding, and patience mean the world to your children. Continue to be their cheerleaders, reminding them of their strengths and helping them manage their stress. Your belief in them can make a significant difference.
There’s so much to look forward to after exams. The Prom on July 6 will be a wonderful opportunity to dress up, dance, and create lasting memories with friends.
Sixth Form Taster Week also awaits on the week commencing 26 June. It’s a chance to explore different subjects and meet new teachers and classmates.
Celebration of Achievement evening on 14 July is a time when pupils’ achievements will be recognized and celebrated by our school community.
Encourage your children to keep pushing forward, stay motivated, and believe in themselves. The future holds great things for each and every one of them.

Twelve enthusiastic Historians from Years 7 and 8 competed against three local prep schools in the annual Inter-School History Quiz. One of the teams from Saracens High finished in the top third – a brilliant result!

113 Year 7 and 8 students sat the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge on 26 April 2023. They behaviour and attitude towards this exciting, high-level challenge on the day was phenomenal! We are delighted with the results that show that 47 of our pupils who participated in the challenge scored in the top 50% of the country! We had 29 pupils achieve a Bronze award, 14 pupils achieve a Silver award, and 5 pupils achieve the top honour of a Gold award. The three highest scores even surpassed the threshold to be invited to the next level of Maths Challenge in June! Good luck!
Several Year 9 pupils have been participating in The Scholars’ Programme throughout the spring term. Their tutor was a PhD student who guided the pupils in studying the question, ‘What is Knowledge?’ Eight of the pupils submitted a final project and received feedback and a mark in the form of a university degree. It was really special to go to the University of Reading for a graduation ceremony where each pupil received a certificate celebrating their success. Our trip included a Q&A session with current university students, a tour of the campus, and a certificate ceremony. The weather was lovely and we all enjoyed the visit!
Our EAL pupils (English as another language) visited the British Museum in central London. The museum houses artefacts from around the world and it was wonderful hearing the pupils explaining exhibits from their home nations to one another. The Mummies from Egypt were everyone’s favourite!
After looking around this vast museum the pupils were treated to ice-cream in the local park.
One of the pupils described why the day was so special:
“A highlight of the day were all my friends. They were interested in all of the exhibits and happy to be together and talk to each other.”
Thank you to Miss Gruszka and her team for organising such a wonderful trip.
