Dragons’ Den
Ten pupils from the Go Forward cohort were invited to StoneX Stadium to take part in a Dragons’ Den event.
The pupils were tasked with identifying a problem in their local community then proposing a solution. Completing challenges throughout the day increased the budget the teams had for their proposed solution.
The two Saracens High teams were up against each other as well as other schools. Teams presented their ideas to 6 ‘dragons’ (judges) from Saracens’ partners, Shawbrook Bank and BNP.
The ideas put forth by the Saracens High teams were metal detectors at park entrances to reduce knife crime, and opening school buildings in the summer holidays to provide safe places for children to play.
Both the judges and representatives from the Saracens Foundation were impressed with the young people’s ideas and presentations.
We hope events like this spark entrepreneurial spirits so that Saracens High alumni will appear on the real Dragons’ Den in future!
