Black History Month
This year we’ve also taken time to honour unsung heroes in our own lives. Mr Kahin, one of our Maths teachers, shared in assemblies about the people in his life who have had a meaningful impact on him, such as youth workers and community sports leaders. He gave the pupils time to reflect on local Black trailblazers and everyday heroes who are shaping their own lives.
Tomorrow afternoon we are excited to hold our special Black History Month celebration. During lunch pupils will enjoy steel band music alongside a delicious menu of jerk chicken, jollof rice and plantain. We are also pleased to be joined by two Saracens players, Seva Kava and Tayo Adegbemile, who will spend time with our poetry competition winners over lunch. In the afternoon, pupils will work in their Learning Groups to design posters honouring their House’s local BHM champions, which will then be combined into a collaborative House artwork.
