Actors and Acting

During Arts Week pupils heard from professionals who work in the dramatic arts.

Vikesh, Director of Chalkline Theatre Company, discussed his journey into theatre as a director and producer.

Jessica King, a professional actor, reflected on her journey into acting from childhood to the present day. She discussed the highs, the lows and how opportunities can present themselves when you least expect it. Pupils watched a clip of Jessica’s work and asked some excellent questions.

Pupils worked on their own devised pieces, including researching chosen subject areas and completing some creative writing. The children performed their devised pieces to each other in the Drama studio at the end of Arts Week.

This was a wonderful way to end the project as pupils were able to demonstrate how much they had learnt and really showcase their talent.
