University Fair at ExCeL

I had a great time at the UCAS Discovery event at ExCeL London—it was both informative and exciting, especially with my UCAS applications coming up.

The atmosphere was energetic, with students from all over London and over 140 universities from across the country. What made it stand out from other university fairs I’ve attended was the mix of options—not just universities, but also apprenticeship providers and employers like Specsavers had shown up to speak to students. Many had eye-catching stands with brochures, banners, and freebies like tote bags, and the representatives were genuinely helpful and they explained the course structures to me, as well as the entry requirements.

I really enjoyed talking with current students, who gave me honest insights into course structures and student life and encouraged me to apply to university.

The talks were super useful, especially the ones on personal statements and student finance, which gave me practical tips I can actually use. The career advice sessions also got me thinking more about my long-term options, as it was suggested to me to think about multiple career choices that go along with the course I want to do in the future.

Overall, the event made the whole application process feel less overwhelming. I left feeling more confident, motivated, and excited about the next steps!
