National Apprenticeship Week
The final week of the spring half term was National Apprenticeship Week and we hosted a number of visitors to inform our pupils about how apprenticeships can be an excellent option for some students.
Year 8 and 9 attended an assembly by representatives from local construction company, Quinn London. Quinn are friends of Saracens High School, having invested in our pupils for a number of years, even providing work experience placements for a couple of our T Level students.
In the assembly pupils were told about the different levels of apprenticeships and heard from two of Quinn’s current apprentices. They shared about the benefits of apprenticeships and how an apprenticeship fits into a career path.
Rebecca, an apprentice from Barnet Council, came to speak to Years 10 and 12. She shared insights into apprenticeship pathways and opportunities available at Barnet Council.
Throughout the week all years engaged in structured seminar sessions, focusing on expanding their understanding of apprenticeships.
We’re grateful to Mrs Strunel, our careers advisor and academic mentor, for organising sessions like these to expand our pupils’ horizons.
