Geographers Visit The Olympic Park
At the beginning of October, over 90 enthusiastic GCSE pupils embarked on an educational adventure to Stratford Olympic Park. This trip was an exciting opportunity to deepen understanding of urban regeneration, sustainability, and the impact of hosting the Olympics.
Despite the dreary weather, with rain providing a constant backdrop, the young people remained undeterred and fully engaged throughout the trip. Equipped with booklets designed to support their Paper 2 knowledge, they navigated the park, observing and recording their findings on key geographical themes.
Overall, the trip was a resounding success. Not only did the geographers gain practical experience related to their studies, but they also demonstrated resilience and enthusiasm, making the most of their time at Stratford Olympic Park. This experience will undoubtedly enrich their geographical knowledge and foster a deeper appreciation for the complexities of urban environments.
As the pupils returned to school, they were not only equipped with enhanced knowledge but also a day spent exploring and learning, rain and all!
