Art Exhibition
The art department held their first exhibition of GCSE and A Level work.
We showed work from GCSE projects including the following: In The News; Flora and Fauna; Human Being; Remnants; Narrative; and Rough and Smooth. The pieces showcased a range of styles, techniques and ideas. There were abstract and realistic paintings, detailed pencil drawings, printed tote bags, digital art work and even a painting made from coffee.
Our A Level students mostly focused on displaying one project and sketchbook each from their two-year study. The projects on show included: A digital project reimagining Orpheus and Eurydice; paintings exploring the mind and narcissism; a mixed media project about Diwali celebrations; projects exploring comfort and identity; and a project about fairytales. The work was thoughtfully presented to highlight the artists’ hard work and dedication.
The young people enjoyed discussing their work and ideas with friends, family and guests. Visitors commented on how articulate the artists were and how fittingly proud they were of their hard work.
Thank you to everyone who attended the event – we look forward to seeing you again next year.
