News Round-Up April 2025

It's been another busy term of music festivals, mock exams and Making Memories days
(not to mention museums, community meals, Making the Leap...!)

We look forward to hearing stories from those heading off on our inaugural skiing trip to Italy as well as our gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award explorers tackling the Brecon Beacons on a three-night expedition.

On March 4th, we took 80 pupils from Year 9 on a geography field trip to Epping Forest, visiting the Field Studies Council. In the forest, the geographers investigated tree height, age, and vegetation cover of ancient and young woodlands, gaining hands-on experience in fieldwork techniques which will help them prepare for their GCSE exam. 25 pupils from Year 9 successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh overnight practice expedition in March, in preparation for their assessed expedition in June. In 5 teams the children carried their own equipment in rucksacks as they navigated their way through woodlands and around lakes in Hertfordshire.
