Black History Month Poetry Competition

As part of Black History Month celebrations, we ran a poetry competition in school. In sticking with this year's theme of 'Saluting our Sisters,' we encouraged pupils to write poems that celebrated and honoured the resilience, contributions, achievements, and stories of Black women, famous or otherwise. Site Visit for Pre-Apprenticeship Students

At the beginning of November our Pre-Apprenticeship students went on a site visit with the construction firm Wates. It was fascinating to be shown around the Grahame Park Estate redevelopment with Projects Managers. Spanish Cinema Trip for Year 7

Each year we take our Year 7 linguists to the cinema to watch ‘Coco’ in Spanish. The Mexican film is based on the holiday ‘Dia de Muertos’ and 12 year old Miguel’s search for his own history and heritage. Our Year 12 Geography students went to the Field Studies Centre in Epping Forest for a 'Carbon Day'. This term we have added a new club to our enrichment offering: Boxing. Each week 20 pupils from across the year groups are led by a professional coach as well as dedicated staff.
