This year we hosted our first ever Iftar event but it won't be our last! The evening was a huge success, as around 150 pupils, staff and families brought a dish along and joined us for an Iftar dinner in our hall. Thank you so much to Miss Mansur and Mr Kahin who helped organise such a wonderful, delicious evening!

Year 7 and 8 visit London Zoo

At the beginning of this term Years 7 and 8 enjoyed visiting London Zoo. We had a wonderful time together seeing and learning about the animals. Innovative Enterprise Sessions for Year 9

|
Innovative Enterprise came to school to run their 'Dwell' sessions, helping our Year 9s think about ways to improve social housing. The sessions also introduced our pupils to the wide range of jobs in social housing and town planning. Our Year 11s enjoyed a much needed break from GCSE preparation with a visit to Go Ape (a high ropes course) in Battersea. The pupils overcame their fears to complete the course. What a great way to prepare for the stresses of the summer exams, while also enjoying a brilliant, memory-rich day.

Year 10 visit The Natural History Museum
|
|
|
Year 10 went to the Natural History Museum at the beginning of term. It was a wonderful experience linking to GCSE Geography and Science along with some wonderful images for Art! Pupils had the morning to walk around the exhibitions learning about the earth, animals and the human body before enjoying the sunshine in Kensington Palace Gardens in the afternoon. …

Our Bronze teams took part in their first practice expedition this weekend in the local countryside. We met at Potters Bar station and navigated to the campsite in Cuffley. Pupil's academic paper is published!

|
We're so proud of our Year 11 pupil, Zulekha. Zulekha completed an internship with Oxford Scholastica. The research paper she contributed to was then selected for online publication in the Ox Journal. We felt honoured to have been shorlisted for a Sport Industry Group award! Being shortlisted for the Tessa Jowell Community Award was a wonderful confirmation of our efforts to make a positive difference in our community.

Year 9 perform at Arts Depot
|
|
|
The Year 9 Drama GCSE pupils enjoyed the wonderful experience of performing on stage at the Arts Depot; they performed brilliantly! This was part of the National Theatre Connections 2023 Project. The play they performed was 'Is This Good Enough?' by Avaes Mohammad and looks at the challenges young people face in post 9/11 multicultural Britain.

In school this term all of our pupils listened to an assembly on how to eradicate misogyny in school. Andrew Bernard, from Innovative Enterprise, helped us consider modern manhood, unhelpful masculinity and how to develop empathy, character and integrity. The assembly gave us lots to think about, as did the workshops we ran for staff and parents.

Over the last few weeks, some Year 10 students have been taking part in “Amplify Me” networking sessions organised by My Local Village Network. Throughout the 6 weeks pupils learnt the benefits of networking, had a chance to explore skills required in the workplace as well as learn from local professionals regarding their own career journeys.
