Message from The Principal

From all of us in your Saracens family, we want to wish you luck as you begin the next chapter of your journey this week.

As you get older, the years seem to fly by, and so to me it only seems like yesterday that you joined Saracens High School. Congratulations on all you have achieved between then and now, and remember that the Saracens values will ensure your success in the big wide world when you ‘live them’.

In this next stage of your life you are going to experience many opportunities and some challenges. Remember that you will always be a part of the Saracens family – please share the successes with us, and if you need any help, we will be here for you, so don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Additionally, if you are available to come and share your incredible stories of success at the sixth form open evening on Wednesday 1st October 5-7pm, we would love to have you back. Please reply to this email if you are able to come and support – we’d love to see you.

Year 7 Tie Presentation

September 15, 2025

We were pleased to welcome so many families into school on the first day of term for our equivalent of Harry Potter’s ‘sorting hat.’

Our tie ceremony is where children discover which of our six houses they will be in for the duration of their Saracens High School journey. The children process onto the stage with their new learning coaches and are presented with a brand new school tie:

Alphonsi – purple stripe
Hill – yellow stripe
Johnson – blue stripe
Rimla – green stripe
Trenchard – pink stripe
Wilberforce – silver stripe

This year we were honoured to have with us Richard Hill MBE, the very person Hill house is named after. This former Saracens player was joined by two current Saracens players – Ben Morrow and Asa Stewart-Harris.

Pupils and families also heard about our Saracens values – discipline, hard work, honesty and humility – from Principal Dr Stevens and Year Lead for Year 7, Miss Ekwebelem.

The new year 7s have settled in superbly. The house competition promotes healthy competitiveness throughout the year as the house points pupils earn contribute towards their house’s total. Trenchard house have taken the early lead this year but we expect there to be lots of jostling for pole position as the weeks progress!

Notices From The School Office

Our amazing admin team have some friendly reminders for the start of term:

Please label all school uniform. If your child loses any items they should look at lost property (outside by the table football tables) and have a look around the building and outside areas.
Locker keys will be given out week commencing 15th September
If your child has a medical or dental appointment we require proof of those appointments via email (admin@saracenshigh.org). We are unable to accept phone calls for absences due to appointments.

New Year 7

Our Year 7s have made an excellent start to their journey as Saracens High School pupils.

A couple of reminders from Miss Ekwebelem, Year Lead of Year 7:

Pupils are allowed to bring in a healthy snack to enjoy at break or lunch
All home learning is on Satchel One. More information can be found here
Please put 22nd October in your diary for our ‘Meet the Learning Coach’ evening

Clubs and Enrichment

Pupils at Saracens High School are absolutely spoilt for choice with the range of clubs we run at lunchtimes and after school.

This term’s timetable will shortly be updated here.

Please encourage your child to try something new – like Bridge for example!

Clubs are a wonderful way to discover a new interest and meet new friends. All of the clubs are free of charge.

Wednesday 10th December: Year 10 progress evening

Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th December: The Wiz school production

Wednesday 17th December, 4-5.30pm: Winter Fair

19th December: Last day of autumn term; pupils finish at 12.30 (no lunch)

6th January: Children return to school for the spring term
