Over the course of this term we have accumulated a large amount of unnamed lost property. In order to return these items to their rightful owners, we will be displaying everything in Reception on Wednesday 29th and Friday 31st May from 10.30am to 1.30pm. If your child has misplaced something, please come to Reception on either of these days.
Following this, any remaining items will either be donated or disposed of.
Please remember to put your child’s name in all of their clothes so that lost items can be reunited with owners.
Having attended in-school sessions earlier in the year, pupils from year 10 continued their work with Local Village Network at Amazon’s head offices in Shoreditch where they practiced public speaking and discussed their future aspirations.
Overseen by professional mentors in software and business at Amazon, the day was a great opportunity to learn about careers, personal development and networking with one of the world’s biggest companies.
The Duke of Edinburgh silver award students have been working hard.
The eleven sixth formers have been going to the Phoenix Outdoor Centre on Saturdays to complete training in navigation, rucksack packing, putting up shelters and tents, communication and teamwork.
The 2-night practice expedition to the New Forest in mid May was excellent and has helped prepare the adventurers for their assessed expedition in early July.
Thanks to the many staff who support the expeditions, from booking, to unpacking the minibuses to giving up their weekends to join the expeditions.

On May 8th, the A level English literature class went to watch Kip Williams’ reimagined version of Oscar Wilde’s critically acclaimed gothic novel The picture of Dorian Gray at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket.
The production starred Sarah Snooks who gave an unforgettable performance as not only Dorian, but all the other 25 characters from the original text!
The visuals for the production were breathtaking, from the lighting and sets to the costumes. There was also a blend of modern media that helped elevate the narrative and comedic feel.
The whole class loved the show. From the theatre all the way until Colindale station, it was all that was being discussed.
Finally, on behalf of the class, I’d like to thank Mr Howard Berg for sponsoring our trip. It is because of him that our class got their first subject trip, and an amazing one at that!

At the end of April, 15 pupils travelled into central London to attend a careers day hosted by the Army at Horse Guards Parade. The focus of the day was careers in the army for people with skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Pupils enjoyed a variety of activities and games hosted by different regiments, all while being entertained by the regimental band.
The children had the opportunity to speak directly with military professionals and to find out more about the lifestyle, career progression and equipment the Army uses on a daily basis.

Ten of our pupils were fortunate enough to attend an academic taster day at Oxford University for young people interested in the humanities.
After a talk on university life and options, pupils were given the opportunity to tour historic Christ Church College and see the college facilities. Pupils then experienced academic lectures by Oxford professors in English, History and Geography.
We look forward to seeing the bright futures Saracens High School alumni pursue and we hope days like this inspire some to apply for places at the City of Spires and other top universities.

Pupils in the year 9 Drama GCSE class performed Orchestra by Charlie Josephine at the Arts Depot on 25th April as part of the National Theatre Connections Festival 2024.
Connections is the National Theatre’s annual, nationwide youth theatre festival. The programme is 30 years old and has a history of championing the talent of young people from across the UK.
The pupils relished the opportunity to experience what it was like to perform on a professional stage in front of a paying audience. They performed with confidence and characterisation, entertaining the audience throughout.
The pupils loved the experience of rehearsing and performing in a professional setting. They are now looking forward to going to the National Theatre in June to see how Orchestra is performed by another young company.
